We would like to thank you for a well planned and thoughtful itinerary.
South America is a huge area but we think you managed to get us to the most significant sites. We found the organisation of transfers, pick ups, hotel selection impeccable and smooth, with no jarring moments. The people involved in the tourist trade from all aspects - were polite and well mannered, guides, porters, hotel staff, railway staff as well as shop keepers who helped us with little or no English made things easier. The Peruvians and Chileans seemed happier than the Argentinians, and we found them to be a little more reserved. All the hotels in our trip were above our expectations and fantastic level of accommodation. We particularly loved the one in Machu Picchu, El Mapi Inkaterra. The Casa Andina Private Collection chain was excellent, particularly at Ollyantambo. The Orly were terrific, they offered us 12 noon checkout with showers and towels laid on for us till our departure for Sydney at 11.30pm. Great service.
A couple of things that might be useful for you –
The physical demands of elevated places, such as Sun Island, Machu Picchu and La Paz, require a certain level of fitness.
In the Amazon Lodge, The climate is one of sudden drenching downpours, and we would suggest that long poncho type rain gear could be emphasised. We thought the lodge very exciting and it was wonderful sleeping under mosquito nets listening to the sounds of the forest.
We loved Iguazu Falls and the Das Cataratas Hotel exceptional, we were thrilled to be staying there, and a dawn walk to the Falls memorable.
Thanks again for your energy and input into making our trip a terrific one, and we hope that you take our comments as constructive.
Kind regards,
