Patagonia Photography Tour

Chile, Patagonia

13 days

Summary

While it’s easy to take a good picture in Chile and Argentina, it’s hard to explore their full photographic potential. Where and when is the best natural light? Where are the optimal locations away from tourists, and are they safe? How do you get there? What other challenges should you expect? If you don’t speak the language, how do you make the most of it?

To answer such questions, let us introduce you to Rodrigo Lizama. With over 20 years of experience as an enthusiastic naturalist and guide, he has a passion for photography. Internationally recognized for his guiding services and local knowledge, his sense of humour and zest for life is also contagious. This Patagonia Photography Tour offers a kaleidoscope of constantly changing and challenging images for you to create and capture.

Start off in gritty Santiago de Chile, the cultural crucible of what it means to be Chilean today. Then, expose the urban pastiche of briny Valparaiso with its graffiti & leafy Vina del Mar with its vineyards. Next, wander through the monkey puzzle trees of Araucania, around sapphire lakes and smouldering volcanoes of the Mapuche people. Then, in the Valdivian forests of Huilo Huilo, catch a glimpse of the elusive fauna and flora. Onward, explore the Lake District with Germanically-manicured farmlands, serene lakeside villages and more looming volcanoes. To the utmost south, your aperture widens out to encompass the vast Patagonia. Remote, rugged, and arresting, Chile’s Torres del Paine and Argentina’s Los Glaciares will cast a powerful spell over you. They have soaring granite towers, iridescent blue icebergs sailing on its milky green lakes. Monster glaciers rumble as golden grassy pampas teem with birds and wildlife.

So, how on earth can you capture such grandeur with a mere lens? Never fear, Rodrigo Lizama is here! Born and raised Patagonian, this place is literally his backyard. However, while he can get you far, the spellbinding impressions of Patagonia will always elude your best photography. Overall, from sunrise to sunset, your lens, heart, and mind will be working hard to showcase this beguiling destination. In the end, your images will tell an epic tale and inspire others to connect with our beloved planet.
