Hiking amongst volcanoes is an itinerary that was designed to reveal the magic of southern Chile. The landscape will take you back to prehistoric times. Millennial araucaria trees and volcanic material can be found among the forests right in the heart of the National Parks.
Transfer to your lodge, located in the picturesque Cautin Valley. This afternoon enjoy an easy walk with spectacular views of the Lonquimay, Tohuaca and Copahue Volcanoes. (3 hours hiking).
Depart for Nalcas Reserve where you will begin a moderate hike amid stunning surrounds. Highlights include the active Llaima Volcano and regional flora such as Araucaria Forests and Patagonia Oak. (6 hours hiking – ask us about less active options).
Today you will have an easy hike of the Sierra Nevada. This gentle walk takes you through lush vegetation to a look out point over several waterfalls. Return after a picnic lunch with the afternoon at leisure. (4 hours hiking)
Transfer to the Conguillio National Park where you will start a moderate hike to a nearby lagoon. Continue through ancient Araucaria forests to reach Conguillio Lake where we stop for lunch. Transfer to the Sierra Nevada trail where you will complete your hike. Overnight in unique individual outdoor domes. (6 hours hiking)
An easy hike this morning through Verandas Valley, passing by old mining sites, natural thermal pools and the green pastures surrounding the lodge. Afternoon free to relax in the sauna or outdoor hot tubs at the lodge. (4 hours hiking)
After breakfast, depart on an easy hike through Valdivian forest and ancient Araucania giants to the flank of Sollipulli Volcano. Enjoy stunning views over nearby volcanoes and lakes. Return to the lodge
for dinner. (6 hours hiking)
A final morning hike to an old lumber mill, surrounded by native forest. After a tour of this relic of Chilean industry, return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer to Temuco airport for your onward flight.
