Famil trip to Chile: Atacama

June 27, 2017

The group spent some days at the amazing Atacama Desert, the driest desert on earth where extensive salt lakes dotted with pink flamingos, volcanoes and geysers, are framed by the mighty Andean mountain range. There, half the guests went on a hike and some rather used the car transfers to Puritama Hot Springs in the morning. And in the afternoon they saw the Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs and the Rainbow Valley.

On their second day, they went to Chaxa Lagoon where they saw flamingos. Then spend the afternoon in San Pedro where the shopaholics of the group went nuts and bought half the village!

The next day they toured Valle de la Luna, with an excellent guide. Valle de la Luna, according to Heather, was a definite highlight! The amazing weather allowed them to enjoy the stunning landscape. Afterwards, the group split and some hiked the Devil’s Canyon, some more adventurous did a bike ride while others relaxed at the spa with delightful massages and treatments.

The group checked out amazing hotels and venues such as Alto Atacama, Tierra Atacama, Ladera Hotel, Barrica 94 restaurant, Santa Rita vineyard, Casa Real historic mansion, Casa Higueras Hotel, Bocanariz restaurant, The Singular Santiago Lastarria, among others.

The Atacama Desert is very, very impressive, want to see it for yourself? Book today and get $250 off your land arrangements in Chile if you spend more than $2000 on your Contours Travel Itinerary!
